FOCUS
The Stopover Transitional Living Program is focused on providing the tools necessary for the young people in the program to move from homelessness to having appropriate living arrangements with an increased knowledge of community resources, experiences in community services, education, training, and employment that will help them to be self sufficient. Services will be highly individualized with the case manager helping each youth create an individual transitional plan based on an assessment of the youth’s needs. This plan will be designed to help the transition from supervised to independent living.
PHILOSOPHY
The Stopover Transitional Living Program (TLP) is the first Transitional Living Program in Indianapolis that will accept both male and female youth not involved in the foster care system.
The TLP program will allow youth to prepare for independence, move from the structured group environment to independent living, have after care, and a mutual support system. The program will produce young adults who are prepared to be constructive and productive members of the community. |
